One of the pieces of advice I often hear from time to time on how to stay happy and positive is to be grateful. Every day, come up with 3 things that you’re grateful for. You can do it at any time during the day. I choose to do it in the afternoon while doing yoga stretches. For me, yoga is a perfect activity that helps me relax and be present. I could reflect on my day, gather my thought, and come up with 3 things that I’m thankful for.
My list for today will be:
- I’m grateful for being able to wake up healthy, strong, and energized,
- I’m grateful for being able to take a walk around the neighborhood in the early morning, enjoying a nice scenery and breathe in the fresh air
- Finally, I’m grateful for a cup of oatmeal latte that I got to make for myself after a long walk.
Remember your gratitude list doesn’t have to be material, fancy, or expensive. It could be a daily activity in your routine that you find so much joy doing, or an accomplished feeling after cleaning up your room, or simply just the ability to breathe and stay alive.
